MRIcro - Very useful viewer and converter for many image formats, including Analyze, Nifti, and DICOM.
MRIcron - The next generation of MRIcro.
Libraries used in MIView
GDCM - Grass roots DICOM. Very useful library for reading/writing DICOM files.
Nifti - Nifti library for reading/writing Analyze and Nifti1 files.
wxWidgets - Extremely useful application framework.
OpenGL - Multiplatform graphics library.
GLee - OpenGL extension manager.
GLUT - OpenGL User Toolkit.
Dialog Blocks - Great dialog editor for wxWidgets.
MS Visual Studio 2005 - On the windows platform, its a good editor and debugger.

idoimaging - Comprehensive site for freely available medical imaging tools.
Useful Tools
glslDevil - Useful for debugging OpenGL shading language fragment and vertex shader programs.
gDEBugger - Useful (though extremely expensive) OpenGL debugger. The trial version works for 30 days.
